Your shopping cart is empty!
The "Manufacturer" or "Brand" section is used to classify products by manufacturer. It is recommended to use this functionality and assign to the products a brand or manufacturer, while users can search products in the store through the manufacturers index.
The steps to follow, to make use of these functions of OpenCart are the following:
To add, edit, or delete manufacturers click on Catalog> Manufacturers. Then click the "Insert" or "Edit" button The form contains the following fields:
Name of Manufacturer: The name of the brand or manufacturer.
Store: The default will be selected if there is only one store. If you have more than one OpenCart store, you can add a manufacturer to several stores by checking them.
Keyword SEO: The keyword used that will assume the URL for search engine optimization. We remember that it must be in lowercase, it does not contain spaces or special characters like accented, orthographic symbols or the ñ.
Image: An image of the manufacturer.
Sorting Order: The position of the manufacturer will be classified among several manufacturers.
Now that we have the brand created, we need to edit the individual products to link to this brand. To add a brand directly to a product, go to Catalog > Products and click the "Insert" or "Edit" button.
In the Links tab, we add the brand that we have previously registered in manufacturer field. When we start typing the brand name, the system will populate the field by looking for the previously registered manufacturers.
To display the manufacturers 'or brands' page in the store in the default OpenCart template, you can access it from a link located in the footer. You can also access the manufacturer's page from the product page, clicking on the name of the "Manufacturer" that has been assigned to it, so the user can access other products from the same manufacturer.
